The MOTS CACHÉS À CRÉER package that you have purchased is intended to be a user-friendly package. There are 35 thematic sheets that may be used with Grades 4-8 at almost any time during the school year to help improve and expand your students' vocabulary. Unlike other conventional word find activities which students complete in 10-15 minutes, each activity should require a minimum of 1 French period to complete since the students themselves are creating the activity. Each teacher should assign specific time frames for completion of the activities. Here are some helpful instructions that will ensure success in your classrooms: Photocopy the appropriate sheet(s) for your class. Explain your expectations of this exercise to your students. i.e. - Students must print the vocabulary onto the grid and then fill in the remaining boxes with various letters of the alphabet; illustrate and colour some of the vocabulary around the grid; write in the English translations of the words into the grid to find; use accents on letters in the grid, etc... Read through the exercise with your students. You may have them translate challenging words if necessary. You may decide for yourself whether or not you would like your students to complete the exercise independently or with a partner. Explain your evaluation methods to your students. Each teacher is encouraged to create a rubric for different grade levels and/or targeting specific aspects of the activity. Once your students have completed their pages, you may have them exchange their word finds with a friend or hand them in for evaluation. Assemble your students in partners or in groups to read their words for pronunciation practice. Glue their word finds into their notebooks as reference vocabulary. And finally...
